3 railway stations in Palamu vulnerable to fog problem

Three railway stations of the East Central railways under Dhanbad division namely Kajree Rajhara and Tolra are most vulnerable to fog fall. Sources said these three railway stations are close to river Amanat Koyal and

have enormous plain fields where the concentration of fog gets high.

For the railways the visibility limit is 180 meters from the railway station.  And if there is no visibility in this range it means the railway station, signal and railway tracks are under fog! And it is alert time for every one.

ECR railway traffic inspector Daltonganj A K Sinha confirming this said  ‘3 railway stations Kajree Rajhara and Tolra are most vulnerable to fog problem and the visibility standard is 189 meters  where our train engine crew should see things clear and if there is any disturbance in visibility it is alert time for all of us’.

Pushpa Kumari a grade 4 employee here in Daltonganj railway station told the Pioneer ‘  Exactly 270 meters away from the Home Signal two detonators are put on the railway tracks in a gap of ten meters but the two detonators are not kept in a series or in one track but their positioning is done tangent using two tracks’.

The detonators explode on coming under the wheels of the train giving warning to train engine crew of the fog .
