The fire brigade of Hazaribag is running in a very bad situation. There are five dousing vehicles but only three vehicles are functional. There is no arrangement to fill the water in the vehicles in the campus. After getting the message of fire the vehicles go to Hazaribag Lake to fill water then leave for dousing the fire.
The employees of the fire brigade office said that if they get four or five calls of fire at a one time, they will be able to control the fire in only three spots.
Sources said that 10 years ago a deep boring was done by the department, but it worked only for a year. After that it went defunct.
The department has written so many letters to the higher authorities but no one has given attention towards the problems.
No safety equipment has been provided to the employees who visit the fire spots to control the fire. In the Hazaribag office there is no arrangement of fans and other facilities for the employees of the office. The employees are facing problems every day.
Fire brigade officer Uttam Kumar Mahto said that they have written so many letters to the headquarters, but no one tried to attend and solve the problems of Hazaribag office. He further said that if the headquarters will not pay attention then the situation will be worse.
