An auto and Eeco Van collided on Thursday afternoon near Barkitand on Giridih-Dhanbad main road, in which three people including a woman in an auto died tragically.
At the same time, about four people including a child were seriously injured. The dead have been identified as Mukund Mahato, Anita Devi and auto driver, residents of Bhawanra, Jharia in Dhanbad district.
It is said about the incident that a family member from Bhanwara in Dhanbad was going to Gandey by auto. In this sequence, an Eeco van bearing registration number JH 10 CH 6751 going from Giridih to Dhanbad at a high speed hit the auto from the front.
Due to which the front part of the auto was blown up and apart from the auto driver, Mukund Mahato and Anita Devi died on the spot.
While a child of the family in the auto and two people on the Eeco were seriously injured being treated at Giridih Sadar Hospital. According to eyewitnesses, the occupants of the Eeco were intoxicated.
