Ranchi police on Sunday morning arrested a private security guard Samir Lakra and his friend Anand Kumar for allegedly raping a 17 years old girl under Namkum police station.
An FIR was lodged against them under sections of IPC and POCSO Act and they were forwarded at Birsa Munda Central Jail under judicial custody. The victim who is relative of accused Lakra was taken at Sadar hospital for her medical examination.
The girl was rescued by the police around 2.30 AM on early morning of Sunday when one of the friends of the victim informed police about her abduction.
“Accused Lakra is Musa of the victim and he works as a private security guard at a government run horticulture farm at Palandu. It was around 7.30 PM of Saturday when accused Lakra asked her to come with him to join a get together party. The victim trusted her and accused took him to horticulture farm.
Here both the accused consumed liquor, forcefully restrained and raped her repeatedly. Since the horticulture farm is situated in forest area and the locality remains deserted after sunset there was none to save her,” said DSP (Headquarter 1) Neeraj Kumar.
But fortunately the girl was carrying her mobile phone and somehow she contacted her friend and sought his help.
Police quickly reached at spot but accused sensing movement of police fled away.
Officer in-charge of Namkum police station Praveen Kumar carried raids and arrested both of them.
The horticulture farm was sealed to collect evidences.
