Located at Bastakola, the death of 16-year- old Abhishek Kumar has  rocked the district.  This is the third death in the last four months.

The child- an orphan  having  speech and hearing disability, was brought  here from Koderma and was admitted here for care through child welfare committee Dhanbad  .

It has been  claimed by the organisation that the boy was suffering from epilepsy and died as he fell down. However, there were several marks of  bruises on his body.

The child  was admitted to SNMCH on Sunday without informing the district administration or the CWC and on Monday he died.

Attempts to get the official version of organisations  secretary AK Singh failed as he did not pick up the phone and after a few attempts his phone was switched off.

When contacted, Dhanbad CWC chairman Uttam Mukharjee said, "I  received information from a third party thus visited the hospital to get  first hand information  then found  that the body was being taken for  postmortem".

Both hospital and organisation have been asked to provide details of  treatment being offered to the child so that appropriate action may be taken, said Mukharjee.

As far as death of kids admitted here is  concerned  in July Arti died under mysterious circumstances, while Badal Pathak of Drugapur died in August following torturing and now Abhishek.

District authorities were not informed in any case by the  organisation in case of deaths.

However, on complaints the death of Badal was probed by district authorities and had found that kids were not  being treated  well.

Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Sandeep Singh has ordered an inquiry into the entire episode by the District Child Protection  Unit and submitted a report within the shortest possible time.
