The Giridih police on Saturday have arrested three cyber criminals from Phursodih location within the limits of Bengabad police station in the city.
“The criminals were involved in swapping ATM cards and also doing fraudulent online shopping for the last several months in Giridih and also cheated a peoples of Chhattisgarh,” said SDPO Giridih Manish Toppo .
The arrested criminals were identified as Hera lal Mandal, Raju Mandal, and Manager Mandal of Phursodih village, all in Giridih district.
The police have also recovered ATM cards ,transaction slips, mobiles cards ,4 Sim cards ,6 passbooks ,6 cheque books ,2 Aadhar cards, and alongwith thousand of cash .
Police sources said that they used to hack ATM machines after which in guise of helping customers ,the arrested youths swapped victims’s ATM cards and know the Pin codes which they used to feed in machine while withdrawing money. He said, “the ATM cards of victims were later also used in online shopping.”
“Police sources said the gang’s other some masterminds were still evading arrest. A team of Bengabad police reached the suspected locations and caught the duo,” said SDPO, Giridih town,Manish Toppo while briefing the media at Giridih on Saturday afternoon .
