Three children of two bhuiyan families in village Sohri under lesliganj police station died in 15 feet water of an under construction well of MGNREGA scheme.
One Gooni Bhuiyan lost his daughter Shakuntala ( 6) and son Rahul (3). Another Sadhu Bhuiyan lost his son Sarwan (4). No post mortem could be done said sources.
The two dalit families buried their children without informing the local lesliganj police..
lesliganj police station officer in charge N Oraon has confirmed these three casualties of the children in a MGNREGA well which is perilously incomplete.
Oraon said the episode is of Wednesday March 16 evening . He said police could not pressure these two dalit families for any autopsy of these three children as the dalit families were too saddened, shocked and wanted their babies not to be torn apart further in postmortem.
Oraon said the tragedy was by accident and no any foul play as the dalit families did not hint at any such.
Police have entered this case in its station diary.
The police officer guessed these three were last seen playing around this MGNREGA scheme well.
The MGNREGA scheme well is very open and any one can fall in to it Oraon admitted. Sources said the well is sans even a bamboo walling around this incomplete MGNREG scheme well.
Sources said about four years back Palamu administration had given an order to erect bamboo walling around MGNREG scheme well to prevent such fatal fall of human beings or cattle. However this warning has been thrown to the wind.
