Second round of immunisation programme, Mission Indradhanush was launched at Sadar hospital premises on Wednesday. In the launching programme 10 kids were administered the vaccination. Dignitaries present at the event requested people to be aware about the vaccination programme. The mission targets infants who are below two years, pregnant ladies and those kids who are above two years and yet not administered the vaccination dose.
Principal Secretary Health K Vidyasagar said, “In order to administer vaccination to each and every child, we are launching the second round of immunisation programme. The one week long drive will cover maximum children. The dates for the immunisation programme are decided and will be conducted on October 7, 9,11,12,14, 16 and 19. On the specific dates National Health Mission (NHM) members will go to the assigned areas and will administer vaccination to kids. “Our target is to immunise all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases namely Diphtheria, Tetanus, Childhood Tuberculosis, Polio, Hepatitis B and Measles. Approximately 70 percent kids in Jharkhand are already covered under the scheme.
