At the second Convocation Ceremony of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar encouraged students to be a guiding force for development of the nation and the society.

As the Chancellor of State universities the Governor congratulated and gave his best wishes to all the students receiving degrees. “This important day today is the result of your hard work, unwavering dedication. On this occasion, I also congratulate all those dedicated teachers, parents and mentors whose inspirational guidance and support made you achieve this success,” he said.

The Governor said that the convocation is not just the end of an educational journey, but it also marks the beginning of a new and important chapter in your life. The knowledge and skills you have acquired through years of hard work, dedication and struggle will inspire you to fulfill your responsibility towards society and the nation. I hope that you will be able to bring about a positive change in the society with your knowledge and morality.

Education is the lamp that removes the darkness of ignorance and leads us towards truth and light. The more humility there is, the more a person uses his knowledge correctly and is able to bring about a positive change in the society.

This university is named after Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. His life teaches us important lessons of selfless service, patriotism and social responsibility, which is a source of inspiration for all of us even today.

The aim of this university is not only to impart academic knowledge but also to make students aware, responsible and empowered citizens of the society. Its commitment towards nation building is very important. I expect that every student here should set an exemplary example by playing an active role in the progress of the nation and the welfare of the society.

I have full faith that this university will set new records in the field of education, research and innovation in the coming times and will inspire the young generation to serve the nation and society. I wish that this institution continues to move on the path of continuous progress and plays its important role in nation building.

It is a pleasure that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, which was upgraded as a state university in 2018, is working towards making its mark as a major center of higher education and intellectual excellence in Jharkhand, while cherishing the glorious tradition of Ranchi College. I am happy to say that it is constantly moving forward in the direction of encouraging knowledge, research and innovation.

The main responsibility of the university is not only to provide quality education to the students but also to inspire them to become aware and responsible citizens of the society and the nation. There should be such an environment here in which students not only from Jharkhand but also from other states wish to get education. This university is not just an educational institution but a sacred place of culture, sanskar and creation, where knowledge is acquired not only for personal advancement but for the service of society and the nation.

Today's youth is a symbol of India's power and potential. He is empowering the country with his energy, knowledge and skills and is establishing a new identity of India on the global platform. The resolution of the Prime Minister to "Develop India @ 2047" is not just an idea, but it is such a goal, in achieving which the contribution of all of you is extremely important. This goal is to make India a world leader in economic, social, cultural and technological terms. Your knowledge, skills and hard work will make India a developed nation by 2047. This is the expectation from all of you.

It is for you to internalize this goal, connect your dreams with nation building and contribute to the creation of a "Developed India @2047". Remember, your knowledge is meaningful only when it is useful in making the society strong and prosperous. Once again, my heartfelt best wishes to all of you for a bright future, he said.
