29 inmates of the Observation Home test Covid positive

Covid-19 has invaded the Observation Home for boys brought here from three districts Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu. 29 out of 67 are down with Coronavirus, said official sources.

Hectic efforts and continuous monitoring of the DDC Shekhar Jamuar in getting fixed oxygen flow to a Covid positive boy  inmate of the Observation Home  here in Daltonganj on Thursday has so far saved this inmate from 'imminent collapse' last night, said sources.

Sources said  one of them developed breathing distress with oxygen saturation down  to 78 and there was no help around for this inmate as no doctor was ready to fix oxygen for him.

Everyone was out looking for an excuse for not fixing the medical oxygen.

It was DDC Shekhar Jamuar who had to tongue lash the doctor who was all out dilly dallying the fixation of the medical oxygen.

Jamuar said "29 inmates of the Observation Home  have tested Covid positive. Three were shifted to the dedicated Covid care center in Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj. "

Jamuar said "The condition of one of the three began to worsen. He needed oxygen desperately but it was not coming to him any fast or easily. "

The DDC said he had no hesitation to say that the doctor on duty did all to avoid fixing the oxygen but it was done finally around 10.30 last night and the inmate saw the day today.

Palamu has to ration oxygen with thrust on no wastage of it during its high flow as here the chances of medical oxygen going waste is too high, said sources.
