A 22-year-old youth was found burnt to death by Satbarwa police this Friday morning at Jora village about 38 km off Daltonganj. The officer in-charge of Satbarwa police station Rustum Khan has confirmed the incident. Khan said the deceased belonged to Ramna village in Garhwa district. On asking how his half burnt body was found in Satbarwa’s Jora village nearly 90 km away from Ramna, Khan said the youth was seen in Jora village last evening of June 4 and on June 5, his half burnt body was found. He did not rule out any foul play.
The deceased’s Adhar card has been recovered, which helped in his identification as Amar Kumar. Police informed the deceased’s father, who rushed from Ramna to identify the body. A green card was also safe and unburnt in the pocket of Amar Kumar. This arouses suspicion, according to the police. The deceased looked poor, but possessing green card reflects something else, said Khan.
About the motive behind the murder Khan said, “love angle cannot be ruled out, but first the police are to find out if the youth had done any transaction with Green Card.” The deceased used to barely eked out a living in Delhi. He was here in Garhwa for some weeks and was seen at Jora on June 4 only. Police said his visit in this village may be due to love affair.
Two cell phones of the deceased gutted in fire. Khan said there were many other articles found in his pockets which the police would try to find the reason behind this murder. Police are clueless as to where the deceased had spent his night on June 4/5 as his half burnt body was found on June 5 around 7 am.
