On Sunday voting will take place in four blocks of Hazaribagh district in the first phase of village local body election. 2,16,009 voters of Vishnugarh, Tatijharia, Churchu and Dadi blocks of the district will use their franchise on Sunday to choose their representatives in the ongoing election process. It was informed by the district returning officer cum Deputy Commissioner of Hazaribagh Mukesh Kumar in a press conference held on Saturday in his office chamber. SP Hazaribagh Akhilesh Jha was also present with him.
Presenting the data Kumar said that for first phase of election 1675 candidates have filed their nomination for the four posts of village local bodies. Out of these, 299 have already been declared winners unopposed. 296 candidates of ward members and 3 candidates of Panchayat Samiti member have already received the certificates of being elected. For smooth conduction of polling 671 booths have been made out of which 378 are super sensitive and 280 are sensitive.
DC said that we have made all the arrangement for the conduct of fearless and fair poll in the first phase of the election. In first phase 296 candidates are in the fray for Pachayat Samiti member, 377 for the post of Mukhiya, 908 for Ward members for panchayats and 76 for member of District Board.
SP Akhilesh Jha said that all the four blocks are known to be naxal affected areas of the district so we have deputed large number of forces on the super sensitive and sensitive booths of all four blocks. We have seized five weapons, 19 live cartages and 18 explosives in our pre-election raids. 322 persons have deposited their arms in the concerned police stations and execution of 922 non bail-able warrants has already been done.
Both DC Kumar and SP Jha have appealed the voters of these four blocks to use their right without any fear and to make a new record of voting percentage.
