The sit in agitation of the 21 contractual personnel of the Nilamber Pitamber university has entered into its fifth day on Saturday with no sign of any let up in the agitation.
On Friday the agitating contractual personnel and a high powered team of the university sat to resolve the issue but it remained inconclusive as both the sides looked the other way.
Sources said the NPU is on its unwarranted tough stand while the agitating contractual personnel have their own plea.
Sources said a stalemate prevails on the small campus of this university where its own working men are shouting slogans against the high handedness of the university.
Sources said the university on the other hand maintains it goes by the rule only and will not budge an inch.
One of the contractual personnel, Nawneet Kumar Singh, said our demand is simple and legitimate. He said we want our regularization or absorption in the services here in this university. He refers to a government letter which he claims empowers the employer to regularise the contractuals.
He said the striking contractuals are ready to furnish any undertaking for this if the university so moves in the matter of these twenty one contractual personnel.
He said the Friday dialogue between the university officials and the agitationists fell through without any hint of its resolution in near few days.
On the other hand registrar of the NPU S N Singh has told this correspondent that the university will like to get this issue of absorption of the contractual personnel here done by the HRD government of Jharkhand.
Registrar said the issue is that these contractual personnel want the university to do their absorption at the university end while the university's stand is to get it done from the HRD government of Jharkhand.
