The aim of the five-year scheme is to eradicate blindness due to diabetic retinopathy from the nation. Extensive campaigns will be organised across the country to eradicate diabetic retinopathy.

As many as 215 patients were detected to be suffering from diabetic retinopathy in the camp. These patients will be given laser treatment at KMEHS under PM Ayushman Bharat scheme and free Avastin injections will be administered with the efforts of Dr Bharti Kashyap every month as per requirement. Avastin injections are expensive enough for poor people, who cannot afford it. And, the treatment will be provided by Kashyap Memorial Eye Bank Trust.
