Vocational training for women jail inmates
District legal Services Authority (DlSA), East Singhbhum alongwith cooperation of the Central Jail, Ghaghidih, kick started a Vocational Training Programme and Awareness on Women & Hygiene amongst the women inmates of the Jail. NGO Karuna Shechen is conducting the programme. The aim and motive of the programme is to provide all possible assistance to the women inmates of the jail so that they can get some skill development training which will help them to lead a better life after their release from the jail. Soumendra Nath Sikdar, secretary, District legal Services Authority, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, Chanchal Kumari, District Child Protection Officer, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur, and Dr. Jaya Mitra, Psychotrapic were present on the occasion.
32 cases disposed in special drive
On the first day of three-day special mediation drive launched by District legal Services Authority, Ranchi 32 cases were disposed of out of the 50 cases that had come from various courts. In other cases talks were on in the final stages. DlSA Secretary Fahim Quirmani said that the drive will continue till July 06 hwre interested parties can come and settle their disputes.
Basketball tournament at DPS
A three-day Intramural basketball tournament (Boys and Girls) for the students of Classes IX - XII at Delhi Public School Ranchi started on Wednesday. In first round Ganges House and Sutlej House got seeding on the basis of previous year match result. During the match Rajshree Tigga of Ravi, Sandali Singh and Vaishnavi of Ganges House secured maximum Basket for their houses. During the match all the houses gave each other a cut throat competition. Principal of the school Dr. Ram Singh said that he was amazed to see the sportsmanship and the team spirit of the student and he also congratulated the winning teams.

DPS holds test for Poshan Abhiyan
DPS Ranchi, in collaboration with State Government conducted an online test for its students to create awareness about the importance of nutritious food for them in their growing age under “Poshan Abhiyaan” scheme. The online test was conducted to help students gain knowledge so that they become familiar about how nutritious food can help in the overall development of life. The online test helped students become more familiar about good food and also the impact of having under nutritious food.
