CUJ celebrates World Theatre Day
Ranchi: Centre for Performing Arts of CUJ , celebrated World Theatre Day on March 27. On the occasion, two short stories of BhismSahni, ‘Amritsar Aa Gaya Hai’ and ‘Chief Ki Daawat’ were performed by Mohit Mohan and Manish Kumar respectively, the students of Master of Arts (Theatre) at CUJ. Set in the times of partition, ‘Amritsar Aa Gaya Hai’ narrated a passenger’s tale in riot-struck train and followed the sudden transformation of human nature in the moment of madness. The other performance ‘Chief Ki Daawat’ showcased a conniving son’s insensitive treatment of his old and widow mother.
Guv inaugurates Toilet Project
Ranchi: District Governor Rotarian Sanjay Khemka inaugurated Toilet Project of RI District 3250 and Rotary Ranchi South (Project ID-1412918) on at SPG Mission Upper Primary School, Hundru on Friday. To make this event successful Asst Governor Rtn Shaid Paul as well as Rotary Ranchi South Members Rtn Manju Aggarwal, Rtn PS Ghosh,Rtn PD Sakuja, Rtn Ratin Badhra and Rtn Kunaal Sharma were present.
2 die in Palamu's road accident
DAlTONGANJ: Two people today died in a road accident in Palamu's Panki. Sources said an auto rickshaw load of people was hit from front by a speeding bike resulting in these two deaths. Incidentally the two deaths are one each from two colliding vehicles. A Manjhi travelling in auto rickshaw died enroute to community health centre in Panki while a lady riding the bike Basmatiya Devi died on the spot. Four others were injured who were treated in the community health centre and later referred to the sadar hospital Daltonganj. The incident took place on Panki Daltonganj road near Bandubar village more.
State Vigilance team nabs DTO
Hazaribagh: After about five month long hide and seek game the State vigilance team finally arrested the district transport officer of Hazaribagh Vinod Kumar from his residence situated in Magistrate Colony near DVC. In the morning it was in talks in the town that last late night the vigilance team arrested Vinod Kumar but till noon no official confirmation was made. later on Vigilance SP Vipul Shukla confirmed this arrest. In October 2014 vigilance team had nabbed a middleman Suraj Kumar from DTO Office red-handedly with the amount he had taken as per instruction of DTO Vinod Kumar. At that day fortunately Kumar escaped due to an election meeting in DC Office. Since then vigilance team was searching him. However it is also in talks that since six months of registering this case is near so DTO has been arrested as per setting and he will come out of jail on bail very soon.
