17 women injured due to lightning in Bokaro
Bokaro: At least 17 women sustained injuries as lightning struck them at Shankardih village of Kasmar block in Bokaro district on Wednesday noon. Eight sustained severe burn injuries while condition of four of them admitted at BGH is said to be critical. Among the injured Nishula Kumari, Anamika Kumari, Sukri Devi and Purni Devi are admitted at a local hospital at Paterwar while Dershania Devi, Sunita Devi Urmila and Parvati Devi admitted at BGH. According to an eyewitnesses women were sowing paddy in the field at Shankardih village at around 2 pm, when lightning struck in the field, resulting into such an incident.
District badminton championship from July 27
Hazaribagh: The Hazaribagh district badminton association has decided to organise district level championship from July 27 to 29 in the newly-built indoor stadium near bus stand. It was informed by the secretary of district badminton association Y Jaggi. He said that there will be championship for under10, under12, under14, under17 and under19 groups in both boys and girls group. On the basis of performance in this championship district badminton team will be selected which will take part in Mohan Ahuja State level badminton championship scheduled to begin from August 2 in Jamshedpur .
