Antagonized over the estranged attitude of politicians, resident of 19 villages under Dhanbad lok Sabha constituency in Bokaro are ready to boycott polling today. They burnt their Voter’s ID cards and decided not to cast their vote for NOTA too.
“Far from the development our villages lacks with several basic amenities like road connectivity, health, drinking water, education and employment facilities,”said Raghu a resident of Pachhora village.“None of the politicians is paying heed towards our problems. We are residing in the dearth of several basic needs. They only come to us for ‘votes’ only,” said Arju Mahato another villager.
“Time and again politicians used to exploit us, so this time we (at least) 20,000 voters of 19 different villages decided to boycott the lS poll. We have banned on the entry of any political parties in our villages,” he added.Meanwhile Bokaro DC Uma Shankar Singh urged the villagers that if they were unhappy and unsatisfied then at least cast their right for NOTA. But irate villagers are not ready to go even with NOTA.
“By opting for NOTA, we do not want to prove that we are alive so this time we have decided to boycott the poll,” a villager said.Notably, with 20,000 residents Baidhmara, Vasteji, Pachhora, Kundori, Mango, Dhangari, Mahuar, Bansgarh, Agardih, Pipratand, Maheshpur, Karmatand, Ganjudih, Chaitatand, Kanfatta and Kenari villages are deprived of,government welfare schemes as all of them does not falls either under any ‘Panchyat’ or ‘Nagarpalika’.
