Two cousin sisters drowned while taking a bath at Nayakhand Dam under Sri Banshidhar Nagar police station of Garhwa district on Friday afternoon, around 35 km away from the district headquarter and 235 km far from the state capital.
The two girls were identified as Sumitra, 13 and Manisha, 12 resident of Nayakhand of the district. They drowned in a dam which got filled with rainwater.
As per the villagers, the children were out rearing the cow when both got into the dam water to take a bath.
Seeing him drowning, other children, who were also bathing, raised their alarm.
Villagers got into the water. But both unfortunately died.
