At least two people were injured at Hazaribagh Road railway station in Giridih when two crude bombs exploded at platforms no 2 and 3 on Sunday evening at 8 pm.
The blast, which left two passengers critically injured, exposed the glaring lapses in the passenger security system like GRP and RPF at the platform, while the Patna –Hatia super fast train was standing at the platform no -2,one of the most crowed platform in Hazaribagh road railway station, eyewitnesses sources said.
According to reports, two powerful bombs struck a crowed platform at a Hazaribagh road railway station in Giridih on Sunday injuring two passengers including one 15-year old Tarun Kumar Mandan, who lost his hand in the blast.
Sources said that the bombs that were planted in a bag exploded after the Hatia –Patna express travelling from Patna to Hatia, pulled into platform no -2 at the Hazaribagh road railway station. Eyewitnesses Devashis Badal told the pioneer that the blast occurred at around 8pm as passengers were removing their luggage from the train. The identity of the other passengers injured by the blast could not immediately be ascertained, officials said.
A 10 year –old boy was among the critical wounded was admitted in the local hospital ,Supertendent of police rail Asim Vikrant Minj told the media that scores of people were present in a the platform when the bomb went off. The explosives devices were planted in a bag .The blast occurred when a boy lifted the bag, Minj said.
The blast was heard from several kilometers away from and blew out the several passengers were hit by shards of explosives.
No one could be arrested in the blast, sources said. The Rail DIG ,Jitendra Kumar Singh ,Giridih SP,Akhlesh V Varier ,Bagodar SDPO Deepak Kumar Sharma visited at the site on Monday .Rail DIG Jitendra Kumar Singh told the reporters at the site of the blast
“It was an act of notorious criminals in the public place .We have to find out how they entered the railway station or inside the train with the explosives device despite checks .The incident was still being investigated when two low –intensity bomb blasts the late in the evening near railway station.
