Bokarao thermal police on Sunday arrested two persons and also seized over 2.5 tonnes of illegally mined coal. The two were identified as Bhim Mahto and Pawan Mahto. Police also recovered two motorcycles from their possession. Officer-in charge Bokaro Thermal police laxamiKant informed that a raid was conducted on the directive of Superintendent of Police Anup Vijaya laxami to check theft of illegal coal business including, buying and stocking in various part of the Bermo sub division.
The officer said the two have been brought to the police for further interrogation. The police action is hoped to deter further illegal coal trade. Police sources said on getting information the police trapped illegal coal smugglers by hiding in a nearby bush and as soon as the two motorcycles reached near Narki, the police team pounced upon them and arrested two persons.
