Cyber cell of Giridih police, on Wednesday, busted an inter-district racket involved in different cyber criminal activities in Giridih and its nearby areas and arrested two persons. The prompt intervention of Cyber Dy SP, Sandip Suman Samdarshi, and other police officials and Bengabad police resulted in the arrest of two of the gang members from nearby field at Basjor area of Bengabad in Giridih here on Wednesday morning. They were identified as Gulton Mandal and Pankaj Mandal.
During interrogation, Gulton and Pankaj accepted their involvement in a number of cases related to cyber crime and said that they used to call several customers as bank officials and asked their pin numbers in other districts like Bokaro and Hazaribagh and if they failed to disclose their pin numbers, they would,then, pose as bank managers and they used to threaten the gullible people by saying that their bank accounts would be closed. Pankaj used to provide the information of bank account and ATM and pin numbers to other men of his gang for easy transfer in his account.
Police also recovered mobile and other documents from their possession, said Cyber DSP.
