Hazaribag police on Saturday seized 150 kilogram marijuana from a tanker. Police have arrested four smugglers with the items. SP Manoj Ratan Chothey said in a press meet that the police headquarter got the information that some persons are carrying marijuana in a vehicle. The headquarters ordered Barhi police to start a massive checking drive on GT Road.
He further said that during the checking drive one of the tankers tried to run away, the police jeep chased the tanker and stopped it. During checking the tanker police found some of the packet was kept in the tanker.
Police seized all the packets of marijuana and weighed the packet. The total weight was 150 kilogram. The SP said that in the market the cost of seized marijuana is 75 lakhs. The tanker was coming from Visakhapatnam and going to Bihar.
Police have arrested the driver cum tanker owner along with three persons. The arrested accused were Satish Kumar , Dharm Singh Gaur, Rahul Tiwary and Meraj Alam of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Barhi police lodged the FIR under NDPS Act and sent them to jail.
