In a shocking incident, one youth namely Mukesh Mahto of Chotki-Sidhwara, allegedly raped a school girl at the same village under Gomia police station area on Sunday evening. The girl in her mid 15 is said to be a resident of Beram police station of Hazaribagh district. She was staying in her relative at Chotki-Sidhwara village under the Gomia police station in Bokaro district for the last one year for her study.
According to the FIR lodged by the victim’s father at the Gomia police station here on Sunday evening, the victim had gone to attend nature's call on Sunday morning nearby when one youth identified as Mukesh Mahto son of Jivlal Mahto intercepted her and forcibly dragged the girl to a nearby place and assaulted her sexually.
The girl was also threatened with dire consequence if she approached police.The girl mustered courage to meet the local police, hours after the incident. “She has complained to Gomia police station of rape, following which we have sent her to the Bokaro Govt hospital for medical examination,” said officer-in charge, PC Deogum of Gomia police station. The police immediately lodged a case (01/16) of rape under Section 376/34 of the IPC against Mukesh Mahto.
