The Puri district administration was on Thursday mulling to lift the prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC at Ghoradia on Friday as normalcy is limping back in the locality which witnessed violence on Wednesday.
A twenty-eight member peace committee comprising people from five villages, including Ghoardia, Sisuapada and Balihunka, was formed by the administration to settle the dispute through dialogue between the warring groups.
It was decided that police would not register cases filed by both the parties to ensure that peace returns.
The peace committee would hold its first meeting on Friday to resolve the issues, including the financial losses of both the parties whose shops and earthmoving machineries and tractor were torched during the clash.
The administration was keeping a close watch on the developments.
The clash took place on Wednesday following an altercation between the rival factions of Sisupada and Balihunka. Crude bombs, sharp weapons, sticks and bottles were hurled during the clash.
The Puri Additional District Magistrate, the Additional Superintendent of Police and the Sub-Collector were camping in the area to monitor the situation.
