The Hazaribagh District administration has approved 140 claim applications for ownership of forest land. About 141.278 acres of land will be given to the beneficiaries of Daru, Tati Jharia, Katkamsandi and Barkagaon blocks.
The claim applications were disposed in a meeting presided by DC Sunil Kumar and attended by DFO east, DFO west, SDO Jugnu Minz and DWO Ratish Singh. In the meeting it was told that forest land claim committees have been formed in 1187 villages. So far 3250 applications from tribal peoples and other eligible have been received out of which 1523 have been approved and 1727 were rejected.
