The cyber cell of Deoghar police on Friday arrested 14 cyber criminals from different locations in the city who were involved in swapping ATM cards at ATM kiosks, hacking ATM machines and doing fraudulent online shopping for the last several months in Deoghar and its surrounding districts, said Aswani Kumar Sinha.
The arrested criminals were 26-year-old Sandeep Ravani, 22-year-old Suraj Yadav, 23-year-old Amit Jha, 20-year-old Chirauddin Ansari, 29-year-old Jitendra Poddar, 19-year-old Purushottam Poddar, 32-year-old Rajeev Kumar, 30-year-old Sanjay Mandal, 28-year-old Paltan Poddar, 19-year-old Names of Vipul Das, 19-year-old Gautam Kumar Das, 20-year-old Sahil Kumar Chaudhary, 19-year-old Gautam Das and 21-year-old Nivas Kumar Das, they belonging to Dumartar,Dhodosumar Sonatar, and Sangramlodhia villages in Deoghar and other district.
Police also recovered 22 mobiles, 36 SIM cards, 9 ATMs, 1 laptop, 7 passbooks, 1 motorcycle, and two cars from them.
In a press conference held in this regard on Friday, Deoghar SP Ashwini Kumar Sinha said that two teams were formed to arrest them.
