A record 13 criminals were remanded in judicial custody on Saturday in Daltonganj. Nine of them are professional interstate national highway robbers. The remaining four4 are equally notorious in looting cash.
SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha said incidents of crime do take place but their cracking is not behind. Sinha referred to elderly couple murder to firing at the railway construction sites where the case stands cracked and criminals behind the bars.
Describing interstate national highway robbery as a challenge Sinha said police nabbed 9 who come from Bihar and recovered the two looted pick up vans besides a four wheeler used in national highway robbery.
Sinha said he was stunned to learn from the national highway robbers that they were looting pick up vans for smuggling illicit liquor from Jharkhand to Bihar. He said national highway robbery used to occur at night.
Again the robbers preferred empty pick up vans.
In one loot these robbers found a cucumber loaded pick up van which they just disposed of for a paltry sum of money.
About the other 4 criminals arrested Sinha said had they been not caught by us they would have committed robbery in a jewellry shop at Nagar Untari and thus we succeeded in nipping a crime in the bud to happen. Police recovered around 12 percent of the looted money from these 4 who had decamped with 75,000 rupees of a customer service point. This crime was busted in 5 days only added SP.
