Fifteen structures have been shortlisted for demolition. Gole Ghar is also listed.  The demolition is to create more and more space besides to rid of the redundant buildings.

Gole Ghar is neither redundant nor in any decay. It's an identity of this 125 plus years of the hospital known for decades as Sadar hospital and now over the last six years rechristened as Medinirai medical college hospital.

There is a sentiment of the Gole Ghar. Only three years ago when there broke out Covid pandemic, the address of anti Covid vaccination was the Gole Ghar. It was seen as a surety bond of not getting afflicted by the COVID pandemic.

Men,women and children twelve years and above used to throng Gole Ghar either for free masks, hand wash or big of all vaccination.

The Gole Ghar served as AEFI (adverse effect from immunisation) treatment unit in those days of the raging Coronavirus.

The Gole Ghar had stood the earthquake when S Jalja was the deputy commissioner here. Indoor patients were advised then to reach the Gole Ghar in the event of the follow up tremors.

Gole Ghar has been a witness to the ups and downs that Palamu has seen. It's demolition will hurt people.
