Twelve students of Utkramit High School, at Madhukarpur fainted after assembly prayer and exercise under Kasmar block of Bokaro district. Students belonged to Classes VI and VII unable to tolerate the heat students got fainted, said school principal (in-charge) Nandkishor Nayak. The prayer and exercise were being held out in the open area, under the scorching sun, said a student. The school teacher Bhagirath Mahato makes them standing for more than one hour under scorching sun and also instructed them to close their eyes else they were punished, said another student. After one hour students started fainting just one-by-one are Babita Kumari, Asha Kumari, Soni Kumari, Gopal, Rupesh, Nishi, Santoshi and others. With the help of other students all of them were given glucose water and later rushed to their homes, said Tara Devi Mukhi of the village.
