Serfdom of Maoists at Karamdeeh in latehar district is now over. People of this place who lived a life of fear and subjugation of Maoists over the decades now breathe in fresh open air as here is set up a forward security post now manned by able bodied troops of CRPF’s 112 battalion.
ASP ( Ops) latehar Vipul Pandey on being contacted said this security post has a high strategic value as it comes at such a place in whose contiguity are labher and Tongaree the rendezvous of the Maoists.
At labher 400 meter above sea level security forces are atop this hill and now this Karamdeeh security post the Maoists’ passage and movement are most effectively curbed and contained said Vipul Pandey adding, “ If their ( Maoists) passage is curbed their assemblage is too difficult.”
Parshant Anand SP latehar describing the locale of the Karamdeeh security post said this is the first human habitation before the most talked about and notorious Burha Pahar and here our security forces have made a serious dent into the bastion of the Maoists as this locale was their route of logistics and supplies of food provisions too. A river here was made to be a river of sorrows for the poor here by the Maoists added Anand saying, “Men and Nature both are now at peace.”
It was on June 20 this year that troops of 112 battalion of CRPF were deployed here. IG CRPF Sanjay Anand latkar had inspected this post on August 17 and had mixed reactions over here said sources in the security set up.
The Karamdeeh security post and the civilian hamlets presented a contrast of age. The CRPF camp at this Karamdeeh post is well lit while the hamlets of poor used to plunge into darkness after sun set.
Sources said CRPF keeping its high standard of stock came forward here and in a week’s time pulled temporary electricity lines, gave away lED bulbs to villagers and to light these lED bulbs gives power supply from the Gen set of this security camp.
Sources said 60 households have now electricity, courtesy 112 battalion of CRPF. Sources said it was IG CRPF Sanjay latkar’s deep concern and understanding of the hardships of the people here that this power connectivity became a reality although on a temporary basis as power comes from Gen set!.
Parshant Anand SP latehar said this August 31 there will be Parshashan Aap Ke Dwar at Karamdeeh where a slew of developmental activities will take off while from the side of the security forces it will be a smooth intervention not surgical but developmental.
life which used to cease here after sunset is abuzz now with students, women and children out of their houses to see how darkness has been overcome here. Sources said the residents of Karamdeeh and Khamikhas speak loud for CRPF.
Sources said just some years back Maoists used to run their diktat and writ and lives of the people here were under the clutches of them but now a sweeping change has come over here with extreme trust and confidence in men in uniform.
ASP (Ops) Vipul Pandey said, “We are working in cohesion with Palamu Tiger Reserve authorities for a 22 Km road stretching from labher to Karamdeeh. Our CRPF here which has held one health camp here is again mooting a plan to hold a camp for the sick and the ailing.”
