The Hazaribag Municipal Corporation has announced 10 per cent rebate online and 5 per cent on offline payment of holding tax up to June 30. After the last date the corporation will charge a 1 per cent fine every month. The corporation has opened a separate counter in the name of Jan Suvidha Kedra.
The Town commissioner Madhavi Mishra said that the payment of holding tax had been made compulsory from the year 2016 by the corporation. She further said that in the Corona period, corporation officials and staff are spreading awareness among the resident of Hazaribag for the payment of holding tax.
She said that in the condition of non -payment of holding tax, the tax payer has to pay the fine from 1 percent to 12 percent. Those persons who deposit the tax on the Jan Suvidha Kendra counter will get a 5 percent rebate, she said.
Mishra said, “We have made this provision so the tax payers are encouraged to pay tax. They can visit https://suda.jharkhand.gov.in and make payments.”
She further said that this was the only way to financially strengthen the corporation so the cleanliness equipment can be purchased. “We have recently purchased some equipment for garbage collection in the town,” she said.
Misha said that the corporation was planning to felicitate the honest tax payers in the town areas. It will boost up the collection of tax in the corporation. The tax payers will feel honoured in the society, she said.
