State BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo today said that tremendous response has been received for the Re. 1 property registration started by CM Raghubar Das. As on date 1,59,777 women have registered their property under this provision. The State Government believes that Jharkhand’s women should not only be independent but also realise the importance of the ownership of property. Keeping the same in mind, Raghubar Government took an important step of limiting the registration fee on the property of Rs 50 lakhs and below in the name of women to Re 1. Due to this step, 1.60 lakh women become property owners in 2 years. Sense of ownership gave these women respect and strength of independence. Previously, in majority of cases only men owned property but this trend was changed in Jharkhand. Around 80 per cent new property’s registration have been done in the name of women. Inspired from Jharkhand other states are also adopting this model.
NitiAayog has also appreciated this step by the government. This move is regarded as one of the most positive steps in the field of women empowerment, he said.
