In the ever-evolving craft of storytelling, Shikha Shahdeo, a creative entrepreneur hailing from the state of Jharkhand, India, has carved her niche in the American media industry. Shikha's professional expedition germinated in the realm of Indian television, where she donned the role of a producer, contributing her imaginative prowess to a myriad of storytelling formats. Her expertise found new horizons in America, where she took the lead in creating compelling videos for major corporations such as Microsoft, Nordstrom, and the University at Buffalo.

Not limited to corporate endeavours, Shikha also crafted impactful short documentaries for multiple non-profits, successfully raising over $50,000 in support of causes related to conservation, education, and youth empowerment. Additionally, she executed viral user-generated content for renowned media brands, accumulating an extraordinary 1+ million views and resulting in a significant surge in audience engagement. In Shikha's own words,“ My passion for filmmaking has been the driving force behind my journey. Every project, whether for corporations or non-profits, is an opportunity to weave narratives that resonate with people on a profound level."

Driven by an unwavering quest for more profound narratives, she embarked on a journey to capture Family "Legacy," through a project named "This is my story: Legacy. “This inventive initiative is anchored in the creation of video documentaries that encapsulate family legacies, designed to endure through the sands of time. Departing from traditional approaches, Shikha's distinctive vision involves engaging cross-generational families, intricately weaving a vibrant tapestry of stories that resonate universally.

The project not only stands out through its captivating content but also through its groundbreaking format, breathing life into family legacies in a manner that transcends temporal boundaries. This especially carries more significance in the post covid era, with untold stories burnt to ashes as millions of people lost senior family members without having a chance to say goodbye. In Shikha's words, "Through 'This is my story: Legacy,' I aim to give voice to the untold stories that echo in the silence of lost goodbyes. Every family legacy deserves to be preserved, shared, and celebrated as a timeless narrative that connects generations."

She adds on to say - “ In her sickness battling cancer, my mom could write only the first page of her journal that was titled- “passion for life”. I wish I could have captured her story in her voice, in her skin, through her lens. Legacy will be a tribute to my late mother who passed away right before covid hit the entire world What elevates Shikha's work is the authenticity and originality she injects into each documentary.

It has emerged as a guiding beacon for media professionals who now integrate Shikha's innovative techniques into their own projects. Shikha's odyssey from a provincial town in Jharkhand to the global stage serves as an inspiration, shattering preconceived notions and affirming that talent knows no geographical confines. It is a celebration of the diversity and richness that India contributes to the global cinematic mosaic. This is my story: "Legacy" isn't just a project; it is a significant and original contribution that echoes the universal power of narrative, proving that stories, no matter their origin, have the potential to unite and inspire across borders.
