Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the biggest hindrances in State’s development were seasonal Governments that used to fall in months keeping it underdeveloped.
While addressing workers in an ST Front meeting here on Monday the CM said that the people of Jharkhand chose development by choosing a stable Government in the 2014 Assembly elections.
“The Governments in the State used to last either for six months or for 12 months. The fall of Government used to hinder development prospects the most and the poor people were the most affected. An affluent person used to get his work done by dubious means, but the poor were most affected by the seasonal Governments,” he said.
“The people of Jharkhand, on the appeal of PM Narendra Modi – ‘You give full majority, we will give overall development’, understood the value of stability and after 14 years of State’s formation gave a full majority Government to Jharkhand. And, the result is not a secret for anyone. Today, Jharkhand is proving to be the most promising State,” he said.
The CM also hit out at the opposition parties and said that the Jharkhand named parties alongwith the Congress only used tribal population as vote bank and never thought about their development.
He said that the present government not only felt the pain of underdevelopment of the tribal communities but gave them a voice by empowering them through various social welfare schemes.
Das said that the opposition just kept deviating people’s attention by spreading rumours about the BJP Government that it will snatch their land.
However, he said that in the last five years no one can claim that one’s land was snatched by the government.
Latehar MLA Prakash Ram, who has recently switched sides to the BJP from Babulal Marandi led Jharkhand Vikas, was also present in the programme said that the meeting was aimed at encouraging people from ST communities so that they instill faith in the party.
The party has done a lot for the tribal and dalit communities in the last five years and the people living in far off areas acknowledge the fact, he added.
Ram said that the people across the State, especially the tribal communities have now realised that the BJP is a development oriented party, which understands people’s woes rather than merely using them as vote bank during elections.
