‘Right to treatment’ under Ayushmaan Bharat: Pratul

Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo hailing the Ayushmaan Bharat scheme slated to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23 from Ranchi said that for the first time the countrymen were being empowered with ‘right to treatment’.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Shahdeo blamed the senior leaders of Congress of scoffing at PM Modi when he conceived the revolutionary idea. “The Congress brass wondered from where Modi would generate so much resources for such a gigantic welfare measure, but our central government under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister has proved its acumen in fiscal management for undertaking welfare steps especially aimed at benefitting the needy,” the spokesperson said.

While over 50 crore Indians would benefit from the benevolent scheme of the BJP led Union Government, as many as 57 lakh families from Jharkhand would also directly gain from the generous scheme providing health insurance up to Rs  5 lakh to all the eligible, Pratul said.

“The scheme is bound to improve the medical quality all over since Ayushmaan Bharat will give the right to the beneficiaries to select the hospitals from where they want treatment to be done. This will result in all hospitals competing with each other to provide the best services and to attract more patients. Let alone hospitals within the State, the people of Jharkhand would also have liberty to get treatment from empanelled hospitals outside the State,” he added.

Accusing the Congress of playing dirty politics even in such a noble cause, Shahdeo said instead of promoting this welfare measure, the Opposition is busy finding demerits in the Ayushmaan Bharat scheme. This speaks volumes about the feelings of the Opposition parties towards the poor people of the country, he added.

The spokesperson added further the state BJP is leaving no stones unturned to ensure a grand success of PM Modi’s visit to Jharkhand on September 23. “The party workers are very excited about the visit since the world’s biggest medical scheme is being launched from here in Ranchi. The launch function of Ayushmaan Bharat in Ranchi would be witnessed by lakhs of common people of the state alongwith the party workers from the state,” Pratul said.

The BJP would ensure that the party workers remain in their villages to spread awareness about the mega health scheme in the remotest corners of the state so that no needy is deprived of availing benefit of the great welfare scheme, he added.
