Women employees of Ranchi Division in times of once in life time experience are showing exemplary courage, faith, dedication and sincerity towards day to day working of railway system to keep transporting essential commodities like wheat, rice, fertilizers, salt, milk, etc to different parts of the country.
In times when lockdown has been extended till 17th May 2020, they have truly emerged as ‘Narishakti‘ – managing the enhanced responsibility at home front and serving nation to maintain essential supply chain link. As far as Ranchi division is concerned, it is blessed to have variety of talented women workforce across all the departments. It is very satisfying to learn that none of them needs any motivational push to do their emergency nature of duty rather they are very enthusiastic in taking lead to perform their duty, which is exemplary and will go a long way in nation building.
Ranchi division like any other division of Indian Railways is running goods train which requires multiple department to work in co-ordination like Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Traffic, etc. in which our women employees are taking the lead to keep the wheels running.
It will be pertinent here to mention that during the time of lockdown three departments, namely Medical Dept, Mechanical Dept and Railway Protection Force have played major role in preparedness to fight COVID-19.
The Medical Dept has done an excellent preparation like 50 bed quarantine Centre, 08 bed isolation ward, QRT among others. Railway doctors of Ranchi division like Dr. Manisha Verma, Dr. Nivedita Lakra and Dr. Neelam Dayal are working tirelessly in time of crisis.
Similarly, Mechanical Dept is putting lots of effort working 24x7 to convert coaches into isolation coaches to meet exigencies. If you happen to visit Hatia Coaching Depot, you can see a lady officer Ritika Reshmi holding a walkie-talkie in her hand leading a gang of 110 persons with several women employees among them engaged to convert coaches into isolation wards.
Not far behind is Railway Protection Force which apart from doing their conventional duty of protection of railway property, have taken up unconventional work like preparation of sanitisers and face mask by women wing of RPF led by Seema Lakshmi Kujur and Sunita Panna among others has strengthen our commitment towards fighting COVID-19.
The list of such women staff of Ranchi division is endless and endless is their commitment to fight COVID-19.
