‘Grand Alliance partners share fragile relationship’

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday took a jibe at the Grand Alliance partners claiming that they maintained a fragile relationship with each other, which may cease to sustain for long.

BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that overlapping of candidates fielded by the Grand Alliance partners in some seats shows the lack of coordination between the partnering parties.

“The BJP wants to know if Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM), the Communist Party of India (CPI) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are supporting the Congress party’s manifesto in which it said that it will amend special arms rights to defense forces in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He went on to dig into the Congress party’s manifesto and questioned if the Grand Alliance partners were in support of the party’s agenda of amend sedition laws in the country.

“The parties of the alliance should express their opinion on whether extremists hoisting black flags on January 26 and August 15 should be booked on charges of sedition or not. They should clarify if they are in favour of taking actions against people raising antinational slogans or not.”

The silence of the Grand Alliance partners over such issues, he said, was an indication of how they were supporting the ideologies of separatist and extremist groups.
