In an attempt to reach out to tribal community which constitute nearly 27 per cent of State population, the State BJP today launched a scathing attack on Opposition parties—Congress and JMM of being the biggest betrayer of tribal and violator of Chottanagpur Tenancy and Santhal Pargana Tenancy (CNT/SPT) Act in State.
The BJP leadership also highlighted the various beneficiaries’ schemes launched by BJP governments both at centre and in state. BJP Rajya Sabha MP and party ST Morcha convener, Samir Oraon said, “The Saffron party is only party in country which is real well wisher of tribal. It was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s effort and leadership that after more than 50 years of Independence a separate tribal welfare ministry was set up in country.” During the tenure of former Prime Minister Vajpayee, a separate Tribal Affairs Ministry was set up on October 1999, through which the work of tribal welfare attained pace and momentum.
He also said that Vajpyee was a visionary leader who took several key initiatives for the welfare and development of people and through such initiatives, the tribal populace of the country also benefitted immensely. Oraon along with other BJP leaders including Khijri MLA Ram Kumar Pahan and several other leaders of ST Morcha said, “The BJP is committed to help tribal and down trodden and following the step of Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is carrying forward the step being taken by Vajpyaee jee.”
He said, “The biggest beneficiary of the various scheme launched by Modi government such as Ujjwala, housing, toilets, Ayushman Yojana are the tribal, scheduled caste and other economically weaker section of society.”
The Prime Minister launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana under which farmers are eligible to get Rs 6000 per year. The tribal farmers of State are immensely benefitted with the scheme.
The BJP leader stated that some leaders of Opposition camp are questioning the surgical strike carried out by Indian government after Pulwama attack. In the Pulwama terrorist attack more than 40 CPRF personnel were killed, the martyrs also included Vijay Soreng of Gumla district. Oraon said, “The people of State will give the reply of Opposition parties’ proof of bullet in surgical strike though ballot in coming elections.”
BJP Khijri MLA, Ram Kumar Pahan said, “It is the initiative of Raghubar Das government that separate Jharkhand State Commission for scheduled tribes (ST) was formed, a decision taken 18 years after the creation of the state.” Pahan said that the Raghubar Das government for the first time gave its nod for inclusion of nine tribal and regional languages in JPSC and JSSC through which tribal population will be benefitted in these competitive examinations.
