The first general body meeting of Zila Panchayat, Gariaband was held on Thursday. Discussions over various works undergoing in various departments and programmes under implementation including those of Woman and Child Welfare Department, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan and lok Suraaj Abhiyan was held.
Review of works being done in different departments coming under Zila Panchayat along with Jhakhpara and Kondkera Paddy procurement Society was also done.
President Gariaband Zila Panchayat Dr Schweta Sharma, MlA Bindranawagarh Gowardhan Singh Manji and Zila Panchayat Vice President Praras Thakur also took part in the meeting. Deliberations over developing Deobhog block as Model Centre for maize production was also held and efforts to procure maize was also discussed.
Dr Schweta Sharma directed officials to carry out maximum field visits and get implemented various schemes run by the State government. She directed the officials of Agriculture Department to avail the list of bore-wells dug under the unified working plan. Several other key decisions were also taken during the meeting.
