The accused involved in attacking and looting a senior journalist were arrested in the city, police said on Wednesday.
Naveen Sharma working with a Hindi news daily was manhandled and looted in Purani Basti locality by two persons, Inspector Sanjay Singh from Central Crime Branch (CCB) informed.
On July 1, Sharma after completing his work had reached his house in Purani Basti. He was standing in front of his house when a youth came on bike and asked for directions to some place nearby.
The accused requested Naveen Sharma to accompany him and show the place as he was unaware of the locality, Singh said.
Unsuspecting Sharma sat on the bike and after going to some distance another youth came and sat behind Sharma.
They then rode towards Sarona area and after looting ATM, mobile phone and money from Sharma left him in an isolated place, Singh said.
The incident was reported to the police and Superintendent of Police, Raipur, BN Meena ordered an investigation.
After investigation, the accused Ankush Sharma and Shiv Kumar Yadav were nabbed who have confessed of the crime, Sanjay Singh stated.
