The youth who was shot at by another youth near Rohnipuram pond under DD Nagar police station limits on Friday late night died in the wee hours of Saturday.
Meanwhile, police was not able to arrest the accused Abhishek Diwan by Saturday.
“The accused Abhishek Diwan (19) is a B.Com student and was preparing for MBA. Few days back he had some dispute with the deceased Akash Tiwari over some property issue in office of a real estate dealer,” ASP (City) Vijay Agrawal said while adding that Diwan had slapped Tiwari at the office of real estate dealer.
On Friday late night Akash had called Abhishek to settle the dispute where the later fired on the former, the ASP added.
Soon after the news of shootout broke, police had reached the spot and rushed Tiwari to Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, where Tiwari died in the wee hours of Saturday.
“Police teams have been sent to different places in search of Diwan and we have also asked family members of the accused to help police in locating him. Friends, relatives and other possible places where he could go are being scanned”, the ASP said while adding that very soon he would be under arrest.
