Body of a youth was found in the river near Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Kathadih on Wednesday morning. The youth was murdered by some unidentified persons, police said.
According to the police the deceased was identified as Mohammed Zahid (30) son of Mohammed Rafique native of Shehdol, Madhya Pradesh and was living here in Nehru Nagar with wife and children. The deceased was a caterer by profession.
Police informed that residents of Kathadih on Wednesday spotted a bike in the river. The suspecting locals then informed Police which upon arriving at the spot found body of Zahid submerged in water. Deep injury marks possibly due to striking with big stone was seen in head. Cut marks in torso area were also found which indicated use of some sharp edge weapon in for killing, informed officer investigating the case adding struggle singes were also found at the shore of river.
Zahid according to police had left his house on Tuesday evening around 6 pm and his body was found on Wednesday. Meanwhile a case in this connection was registered with Tikarapara police station and which have begun investigation.
