A youth was arrested for sexually harassing a seven-year-old boy in Gudhiyari locality of Raipur, police said here on Monday. Shankar, a resident of Kachra Chowk Gudhiyari on Sunday night had called the boy in his makeshift ironing shop on the pretext of giving him a kite.
When the boy reached the shop, the accused held the boy and exploited him sexually, SHO Gudhiyari Pramila Thakur informed. The boy after reaching home narrated the ordeal before the parents, who then lodged a police complaint. The enraged parents also registered a protest before the police after which it swung into action and nabbed the accused on Sunday morning.
The boy has been admitted in Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial hospital and his condition is stable, SHO said. Medical report of boy has also confirmed unnatural act, she added.
The accused has been booked under Section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) (Unnatural offences) and Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, the SHO said, adding, he was later produced in a local court which sent him to jail on judicial remand.
