In another setback to IPlT-20 betting business, Crime Branch Durg nabbed a punter with wager records to the tune of Rs1.55 lakh. The money was betted on the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, police said on Tuesday.
According to the official information received from the office of Superintendent of Police (SP) Durg Anand Chhabda, the arrested accused has been identified as Raju Chauhan (26) resident of vegetable market Supela. He was arrested from a house near Kohka Bhelwa pond on May 12 on a tip off. Police also seized 6 mobile phones, computer and record of Rs1.60 lakh along with cash Rs13,000. The accused was earlier also involved in similar kind of offences police claimed.Police further said that on the basis of calls made by Raju his friends are searched.
