In a major success against the drug mafia, district crime branch arrested a youth in Bhilai and seized brown sugar worth Rs 42 lakh on Saturday. According to official information received from the office of Superintendent of Police Dr Anand Chhabda in all nine pouches of the banned drugs were seized from the possession of youth.
According to the official statement released from the office of SP Durg the accused was nabbed on a tip off from quarter number 2, A-market Sector 5, Bhilai.
The accused was identified as Vivek Soni alias Haddi (24) a resident of Sector 5. He used to supply the brown sugar in retail in the city, police said. “About 41.61 gram of brown sugar was sized from the possession of youth,” read official statement. Police is interrogating Soni and booked him under Section 21 of Narcotic Act, police said.
