Former Congress MLA and scion of the Kawardha’s royal family, Yogeshwar Raj Singh who had filed nomination papers as an Independent candidate from Pandaria assembly constituency decided not to go ahead with the move.
He withdrew his nomination papers on the last of withdrawing the nomination papers after Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh State Assembly T.S. Singhdeo and senior Congress leader of Kawardha region, Mohammed Akbar pacified him.
Singhdeo who is scion of Surguja’s royal family said that Yogeshwar Raj Singh was like his younger brother who was persuaded to withdraw his nomination papers.
Notably, Congress party had fielded Mamta Chandrakar from Pandaria assembly segment from where Yogeshwar Raj Singh had filed nomination as an Independent candidate.
