YC launches campaign against Centre's 'anti-farmer' policies

Published on:

Youth Congress (YC) activists have launched a post-card signature campaign against Central Government’s what they termed as “anti-farmer” polices including  the amendment to the land Acquisition Act at Kosabadi chowk here. According to YC president Shayam Narayan Soni, “India is an agriculture based country”. “The Government”, he said, “is planning to sell the agricultural lands to industries. The farmers are the base of the country and the Government is trying to remove them from their base”.

The YC, he said, was strongly opposed to the anti-farmer polices of the Central Government and added that it would run awareness campaigns across the State to inform the realities to the farmers. YC State Secretary Sarman in a statement alleged that most of the Central Government policies were not for the welfare of the public at large especially the farmers. He termed the Central government as “anti-farmer”. Sarman also described the laws especially the amended land Acquisition Act as “Black law”.
