A daylong workshop on the subject of Sexual Harassment (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 was organised here on Thursday under the joint aegis of Chhatttisgarh State Women Commission and Chhattisgarh State Civil Supply Corporation.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Harshita Pandey and Civil Supply Corporation Chairperson lata Ussendi, along with department officials from all districts of the State, especially lady officers were present. Harshita Pandey informed in the workshop that role of women at workplace has significantly expanded.
The importance of their works as well as their challenges has grown. Most of the offices have still not constituted committees for enacting the law. The major reason behind this is lack of information and awareness.
All the offices should compulsorily constitute committees for enforcement of the law. Managing Director of Civil Supply Corporation Sunil Kumar Jain said that it is mandatory for Office Heads to stay updated about the enforcement of this law.
Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Secretary RJ Kushwaha said that it is necessary to create awareness among women about this law and their legal rights for prevention of sexual harassment at workplace.
