The IIW-Bhilai Branch, a professional body of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) for the first time has started training workshops for the benefit of welders and front line workers of the plant.
The IIW-Bhilai Branch has been conducting a series of knowledge dissemination workshops and seminars for welding professionals and also training workshops for the benefit of welders, a BSP press release issued here on Wednesday stated. A training workshop on “Basics of welding” was held at BSP’s Steel Melting Shop –I.
The chief guest on the occasion was Kamalendu Das, GM (SMS-I), BSP while Arvind Kumar, DGM I/c Mech. Maint, SMS-I was the guest of honour and presided over the function.
B K Dey, Hon Secretary (IIW-Bhilai Branch) and DGM (Projects) welcomed the participants and apprised the objective of organising such training workshops. He emphasised that the workshop will help Welding Technicians of SMS -I to clear all their doubts regarding any practical issue related to Welding and thus enhance the quality of repairs in the shop.
